Isla Canela Old
Isla Canela Golf course is situated within a Nature Reserve where the river Guadiana empties into the Atlantic Ocean. Its beautiful location and the mild climate of the region make it an ideal destination for golfing all year around.
The course, designed by Juan Catarineu, is successfully integrated into existing flat terrain and is very comfortable to walk. Wide fairways run between natural dunes and many trees - oranges, olives, eucalyptuses and palms- have been introduced not only to enhance the location but, by their position, to provide natural hazards. At first sight it looks like an easy golf course, but it has its hidden difficulties!

Overall baan clubhuis ervaring zeer matig. Onderhoud teebox en fairway voor verbetering vatbaar greens prima. Geen moeilijke baan. Geschikt voor hoge handicap. Voor mij te weinig uitdaging. -**- Overall course clubhouse experience very mediocre. Maintenance teebox and fairway could be improved greens fine. Not a difficult course. Suitable for high handicap. Too little challenge for me.

First of all, the staff at reception deserves kudos for their service and people skills. Very helpful with a group of 20+ players and nothing starts a game better than heading to the first tee feeling welcomed with smiles and good service with an effort being made to make sure your day and that of your clients starts on the right foot. The course plays very good with challenges for all levels. The greens were some of the better greens I have played on this season. Putts rolled very true and they were fast enough to penalize those ones you got a little frisky with. Enjoyable day and will definitely look forward to playing here again.

Interesting and engaging layout. Very good greens for the most part p, particularly considering the had recent been perforated. 1st visit Nd I enjoyed it and will look forward to the next visit. Pro shop prices absurd however.

Interesting course but no need for big hitting just be very straight. Accuracy also required as plenty water and small greens. Low point was bunkers either lacked sand or had loads.

We have played previously at this course and it was lovely. Unfortunately this time the grounds were very hard and well worn has gone downhill considerably
